François DE HERAIN (1877-1962) - Female Portrait
€180,00
François de Hérain (1877–1962) was a French draughtsman and painter trained in the academic tradition at the turn of the 20th century. His heightened pencil portraits, executed with great finesse, demonstrate a mastery of classical drawing and a particular sensitivity to facial psychology.
This heightened drawing (pencil with white highlights), dated to 1900–1920, depicts a very gentle female portrait. The face, finely modeled by white highlights on a beige paper background, emerges with a striking presence. Slight paper patina consistent with age. The artwork is presented in an old gilded frame.
